Hawaiian Tropi-Qal

Quantus turned 15, and what better way to celebrate than escaping the -30°C chill and heading to Waikiki, Hawaii?

With sunshine, beaches, and a little adventure (okay, a lot of adventure), this year’s annual team conference was one for the books.

Before We Get Into It

We want to share a huge thank you to our Diamond Sponsors, MCAP, Merix, and RMG. Without their sponsorship this year, this event wouldn’t have been possible. From the entire Q team, thank you for all your support this past year!

Winter Storms Everywhere

If you have ever planned a large team event before, you know there’s always a bit of panic right before the event starts. Do you have everything organized? Are you forgetting anything?

That panic dialled up a little the day before most people left as a massive winter storm came through the islands, causing flight diversions and a one-day delay for some of our team. But in true Quantus fashion, we rolled with it. Once the storm passed and the streets were cleared, it was time to soak up everything Oahu had to offer.

Thank goodness, no one panicked…

Beach Volleyball, White Nights, and Stunning Sunsets

As soon as people arrived, we found the beach volleyball area and the competition was fierce. While not everyone took to the sandy court, the spot could not have been more perfect. Shaded trees, right beside the ocean, perfect white sand? Amazing.

Our first official team night kicked off at the iconic Duke’s, where we all rocked our best white outfits for a sunset dinner. If you have never been to Hawaii, the sunsets here are next level. There is what’s called the “Golden Hour” right after sunset, where everything seems to glow.

We have to give a massive shoutout to Verico for sponsoring an unforgettable evening and to Duke’s for providing the perfect spot to kick off our conference.

The Ultimate Island Tour

Day two had us exploring every corner of Oahu on a full-day bus tour. From whale watching and Jurassic Park filming locations to the famous North Shore, the Byodo-In Temple, and Dole Plantation, we covered it all. We even drove by a few filming locations for Adam Sandler’s 50 First Dates, one of co-owner Todd Fralic’s favourite movies (he’s a not-so-secret rom-com lover, especially those set in Hawaii).

Speaking of Dole—did you know it takes up to 24 months for just one pineapple to grow? Many minds were blown on the bus.

Marketing, Snorkeling, and Too Much Fun on a Boat

Day three kicked off with a powerful business session from local marketing expert, Anna Covert of Covert Communications, sharing game-changing marketing insights with the team. A huge thank you to Anna for taking the time to present to our team, bring us a few tasty treats, and of course, lei us all.

After soaking in all that knowledge, it was time to hit the water!

Captain Devon (whose wife, in a fun twist, is a mortgage broker in the U.S.) took us on an unforgettable catamaran tour. We snorkelled, swam, spotted sea turtles, and even tested our diving skills off the boat. Some of us may have had too much fun (you know who you are). Huge thanks to Captain Devon for an epic afternoon at sea!

A Grand Finale at Roy’s

Our final dinner took us to Roy’s, where the food was next level. Everyone dressed up for one last night out, and of course, we had to capture the moment with a team photo in our custom Quantus Hawaiian shirts. (Spoiler alert: these shirts are definitely making an appearance this summer.)

One Last Day in Paradise

With most of us flying out late, we squeezed in as much beach time as possible. More beach volleyball, paddleboarding, and soaking up the last of that Hawaiian sun before heading back to reality (and -20°C temperatures). Let’s just say, packing up was not easy.

This trip was easily one of our favourites, and we know we’ll be talking about it for years to come. A massive thank you to everyone who made the journey to Hawaii and to our incredible sponsors who helped make it happen.

The big question is… where do we go for our next conference? We can’t wait to do it all over again!

Thank You To Our Sponsors

Before we get too excited about planning our next conference, we have to say thank you so all our sponsors. We have been able to host some amazing events this past year because of their contributions, and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without them!

Thank you to our Silver Sponsor, Home Auto Life

And our Partner Sponsors, Filogix, RFA, CWB Optimum Mortgage, and TD.
